Joan Silber

Joan Silber is the author of Fools, longlisted for the 2013 National Book Award, and six other works of fiction, including The Size of the World, finalist for Los Angeles Times Fiction Prize, Ideas of Heaven, finalist for the National Book Award and the Story Prize, and Household Words, winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award. Her short stories have appeared in The Scribner Anthology of Contemporary Short Fiction, The O. Henry Prize Stories, including the 2013 edition, and Pushcart Prize collections.  A nonfiction book, The Art of Time in Fiction, was published in 2009.  She lives in New York and teaches at Sarah Lawrence College.
